Pennsylvania born Joey Love made his way to East Texas in 1979. Growing up he was listening to Motown, and influenced by artist like Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin etc. It wasn’t until he hit Texas soil where he ran into an old friend who introduced him to Blues, especially Texas artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Freddie King, etc. and it was "that" sound which immediately transformed his style.

Joey spent the next few years performing in a variety of bands but it wasn’t until 1995 that he professionally hit the Texas Music Scene fronting The Blues Xpress. To date Joey has two all original independently released CD's, performed on a variety of other artist CD’s and with a lot of due paying has made his mark as a premier Texas Guitarist. Aside from his own project Joey performs regionally and nationally with other artists to include Texas Slim and Wanda King (the daughter of the legendary Freddie King)

Joey’s writing talents have included him on several compilation CD's including one that was distributed with SPIN magazine. In 2006 the band was selected to perform in a National TV Commercial and Radio spot for Famous Dave's BBQ which is airing in 30+ states across the country. The band performed in the commercial which was directed by Danny Clinch, a Grammy Winning director (Bruce Springsteen and recently released John Mayer’s Live in Los Angeles).

Aside from performing in hundreds of clubs Joey has also headlined several festivals including the Edmond Jazz & Blues Festival, a variety of Texas area concerts and opened for the likes of Johnny Winter, Savoy Brown, Hubert Sumlin, Bobby Blue Bland, WC Clark and Blue Oyster Cult.

Always on the quest for tone Joey finally found his love when he came across K&M and Two Rock Amps. He currently is using a 50W Custom Reverb Signature and a Jet 1x12 Signature Combo.
